How to renew your Website Push Certificate

Website Push Certificates expire after one year by default. When your current certificate expires, you can not only see in your account under Settings → Certificates → Apple Safari → Valid until, but Signalize will also remind you automatically.

Renewal before expiry is important because without a valid certificate it is neither possible to send push messages to Safari users nor to collect subscribers for iOS devices.

Note: Renewal of the certificate must be done with the same Apple Developer Account that was used to create the initial certificate.

Follow these steps to renew your certificate:

Step 1:

Log in to your Signalize account and go to Settings → Certificates → Website Push to download the Certificate Signing Request (CER):

Step 2:

Next, log in to your Apple Developer account and select Certificates, Identifiers & Profiles:

Step 3:

Add a new certificate via Certificates + and select Website Push ID Certificate under Services in the following dialogue:

Step 4:

On the next page in the drop-down menu, select the website Push ID you want to renew and click Continue:

Step 5:

Click Choose File, select the Certificate Signing Request (CER) downloaded in step 1 and press Continue:

Step 6:

The certificate has been renewed and is now available for you to download via the Download button. Upload the certificate to your Signalize account under Settings → Certificates → Apple Safari:
